RIM dives amid disappointing outlook

Posted by Jarod Vhale on September 27, 2008. Filled under Blackberry Thunder, Google Android, RIM, advertising, business problems, iPhone.

I don’t know if this has to do with the fact that the world is imploding to the south of us, (remember, banks are some of RIM’s biggest customers), or it’s because the iPhone is kicking the crap out of pretty much everyone in the mobile market, however an article in the Toronto Star today outlines how RIM’s stock is dropping pretty heavily.

There seems to be a lot of hype around the Blackberry Thunder, the touchscreen ‘competitor’ to the iPhone.  I predict the stock is going to get hammered a lot more when this is released because this phone just looks like a recycled version of the Google Android which, for those of us in the know, realize it’s a dumb downed version Windows Mobile 8.

Bottom line…RIM really needs to start thinking, instead of reacting in a knee-jerk fashion.  Otherwise, it will end up like Motorola.

Just saying
